Past:Medical and Community Interpreting. 54 hours. Taught at Springfield Technical Community College, aimed at members of the community, aspiring and practicing interpreters, and bilingual health care staff. Extensive practice, specialized vocabulary, and role-playing. 2006-2008.
Interpreting I. 45 hours (one semester). Taught at UMass Amherst, aimed at undergraduate students. Focuses on medical and community interpreting. Extensive practice, ethical guidelines, and standards of practice. 2005-2008.
Interpreting II. 45 hours (one semester). Taught at UMass Amherst, aimed at undergraduate students. Advanced skills & techniques in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting. Extensive practice on state-of-the-art equipment. Note-taking techniques, memory-building activities, and specialized vocabulary included. 2005-2009.
